- About Me
- My name is Jennifer Glackin. As I am sitting here writing, I am hard pressed to explain “Who is Jennifer Glackin” in just a few short words.
I wear a different hat several times a day! I am a stay-at-home mom of 3, a wife, a small business owner, a Network Marketer, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a dog owner…. the list is endless. But what will likely interest you the most is that I am an avid student of Internet and Social Marketing.
And I am thankful every day that I am able to be home with my children while being able to contribute to our family income. I am living in the best of both worlds!
I started off like many of you by graduating from college and entering Corporate America. I worked in sales for 7 years before the birth of my daughter. I continued working my sales job until she was 18 months. It was at that time that I realized she was growing up without me and I made the decision to leave Corporate America and stay home.
Only there was one problem… I still needed an income. I decided to go into business for myself and started my own online boutique called That’s So Darling!. That’s So Darling! specializes in personalized baby and children’s gifts.
Unfortunately, about 5,000 other entreprenurial moms also had the same idea. The market for online baby gifts became quickly saturated making it impossible to turn my business into a career with a decent income potential. After 5 years in business with That’s So Darling, I started to look elsewhere.
And that’s when I found network marketing. It made sense - I could work at home and be involved with a business that had the potential for unlimited income!
I dove into my network marketing business using the old-school techniques that we, network marketers, are so well known for. Hotel meetings, home parties, e-mails/phone calls to friends and family….all of the techniques that my upline taught me to use.
But after spending a few months spinning my wheels, I knew this was not the way I wanted to build my business. I knew there had to be a better way.
Since I owned an online business, the Internet felt like home. I did a search for “network marketing success”… and from that day forward, I entirely changed the way I looked at and worked my business. That was the day I found Social Marketing, Internet Marketing and thankfully, that was when I found the people who taught me the core marketing skills I was lacking.
Thanks to some incredible mentors, I have come a long way. I discovered it doesn’t always work being the “lone ranger”. Instead I have connected with a community of coaches and mentors in the industry.
They have shown me how to set up my business the correct way. They have also taught me to leverage social marketing to build my business. My business has thrived with the help of my network marketing coaches.
