I recently purchased Alving Phang’s
Atomic Blogging ebook, (most of the ebook is a tutorial on how to start a wordpress blog, sign up for free blog web 2.0 sites, AdSense, and other ways to make money from your blog), and I found many cool links for blog traffic building and SEO. One I found to be extremely helpful is a site to check your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Level on any webpage! The resource can be found at
SEO Workers.
Since I was working on optimizing my Squidoo lens on
Time Management for Entrepreneurs I entered my Squidoo lens and ran the results on SEO Workers. It gave me some eye-opening feedback!
One of the few things I learned was that:
* I should limit the amount of keywords on my Squidoo lens to preferably to 8
* My description can use some editing. I should shorten the description of my lens to no more than 200 characters (the description is the first module on your Squidoo lens entitled “Introduction, Contents, and Discovery tool).
* I had a few keywords that used “stop words” i.e “to, the, how, your for,” which are usually ignored by most search engines.
* Too many urls (A note on this - What makes Squidoo so great for generating traffic to your blogs or websites is that Squidoo links your lens tags (keywords) to all other related tags on other lenses (One of the reasons Squidoo’s Google Page Rank is 7).
* Overall the description relevancy to my page content is 96%, which is excellent.
I thought this was really neat and could help you in your quest to reach more people online with organic search engine results whether you seek to generate traffic to a new blog or website.
P.S.
I do highly recommend Alvin Phang’s
Atomic Bloggine ebook for Wordpress beginners!
