This past month has been a whirlwind and the next month is likely to be also. On the upside, I spent a week in Washington, DC with my husband while he attended a meeting there in early October. I really enjoyed that. Walked my feet off and took lots of photos.
Next I had a visit scheduled to see my family in Oregon. My parents are 80 years old and I try to come back here twice a year at least. I have 2 sisters who live here too so it's nice to see everyone.
This time tho, My dad is waiting for a hip replacement and he's now in so much pain he can barely walk. We didn't know when it would be so I came out to OR now anyway and his surgery is scheduled for Thanksgiving week so guess I'll be here at that time and not with my husband and kids. That part doesn't bother me so much as my husband and I decided when we moved to Texas that if I were ever needed here in Oregon, I'd come, no questions asked.
As the oldest daughter, things seem to fall to me. My younger two sisters work and I work at home so I can always drag my computer along.
It's difficult to see your parents in this situation tho. I do feel lucky to have them still as my husband's parents are both gone now.
I started my new blog for baby boomers in Sept so am still finding time to post something most every day but as far as promoting it or anything else, there's been no time.
I miss conversing with everybody in discussion groups tho!
